YVR > SJC - kind of a zany concept but it works relatively well, not a great boxing movie but not too bad.
0.3This movie came well recommended to me and it was a good, strange and profanity laced comedy. The main character was profound, confusing and yet remarkably consistent and believable. Some good lines in there and a nice change of pace from an action movie loaded with action to this one which seems to try to avoid it at every turn.
0.3When a movie with a plot as benign as MLB drafting and trading using statistics instead of scouting intuition is this entertaining, you know they did something right. Great story that had both Heidi and I riveted to a sport that we really know and care very little about.
0.3MSP > YVR - Solid acting in this action-drama, decent story, pretty good fight scenes and sympathetic characters. All in all, nicely done.
0.3Ugh, this Christian movie was not worth watching. While it followed the plot of the Prodigal Son story closely, it seemed to lack all the great details that we had been learning about in the Prodigal God book study that we were going through. The acting was poor, most of the characters were poorly developed and the dialog was very local (to Texas) and didn't sound very natural to my Canadian ears.
0.3Ginger Snaps
2 cups flour
1 Tbsp ginger
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup margarine
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
Soften margarine, add all ingredients except flour and mix. Add flour 1/2 cup at a time and mix each time. Roll into balls about an inch in diameter. Roll in a bowl of sugar to coat and place on pan. Cook at about 350F for 7 to 10 minutes.
Rice Pudding
1 cup long grain rice
1 1/2 cups cold water
a pinch of salt
1 tablespoon margarine
1 1/2 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 cup raisins (optional)
Combine rice, water, salt and butter in saucepan. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer until water is absorbed. Combine cooked rice, milk, vanilla, sugar, eggs and raisins. Pour into lightly greased casserole.
Bake at 325 for 45 minutes, until set.
Makes 4 to 6 servings.
I was interested to see what we thought each others energy levels were over the course of an average day so we eached graphed what we thought we were:
Here’s what Heidi thought of us (she’s navy and I’m light purple):

Some insights quickly come to mind:
1. I’m a geek for doing this (you’d be right)
2. Heidi has lower expectations of energy output than me, I figure I’m kicking it at 100% every day
3. I think sleeping is closer to 0% than Heidi does
4. Heidi thinks that I rarely ever get close to her level of energy output until 6pm, which is probably pretty accurate.
5. I think that we have pretty much the same pattern, she’s just ahead of me by a few hours.
That’s it, now that you know how, why don’t you do your own energy level chart and post it on your blog??

Well, I guess I’ve got my work cut out for me
Our 13th (!!) nephew (nieces count too) was born yesterday morning to proud parents, Rick and Jacquie. As far as I know, everyone is doing very well, more details will likely not follow.
OK, so out of the six CDN NHL teams, four made it to the playoffs. First to get knocked off were the Habs, then the Flames. In the second round the Senators went but through it all the Oilers hung on and are now the last remaining CDN team vying for the cup. Tonight they’re playing the Ducks and I’m there biggest band wagon jumper fan seeing as I typically loathe them (I loathe the Leafs more though, of course). Go Oil!
These CDN teams didn’t make it
These CDN teams didn’t even make the playoffs at all!
In reading the IMDb today I saw an interesting quote from Ian McKellen, “insisting Christians should be happy with the theory that Jesus Christ married and produced a bloodline.” Hmmm, why should these Christians be so happy about this new revelation?? “This would be absolute proof that Jesus was not gay.” Oh, right, that was exactly what I was concerned about, thanks Ian
I do feel better.
Now this guy can juggle!
Ever since game 3 when the Habs lost in OT I felt that they were toast – they were flying so high and to lose that game was devastating. Tonight, in my favorite LA restaurant (Sushi 21), I was able to witness the overtime game winner for Carolina to put Montreal out of the playoffs. Too bad… well, go Ottawa, Calgary and Edmonton!
