YVR > SJC - kind of a zany concept but it works relatively well, not a great boxing movie but not too bad.
0.3This movie came well recommended to me and it was a good, strange and profanity laced comedy. The main character was profound, confusing and yet remarkably consistent and believable. Some good lines in there and a nice change of pace from an action movie loaded with action to this one which seems to try to avoid it at every turn.
0.3When a movie with a plot as benign as MLB drafting and trading using statistics instead of scouting intuition is this entertaining, you know they did something right. Great story that had both Heidi and I riveted to a sport that we really know and care very little about.
0.3MSP > YVR - Solid acting in this action-drama, decent story, pretty good fight scenes and sympathetic characters. All in all, nicely done.
0.3Ugh, this Christian movie was not worth watching. While it followed the plot of the Prodigal Son story closely, it seemed to lack all the great details that we had been learning about in the Prodigal God book study that we were going through. The acting was poor, most of the characters were poorly developed and the dialog was very local (to Texas) and didn't sound very natural to my Canadian ears.
0.3All yellow? or flecked with brown man!?
So, in the great spirit of re-designing my webpage, I’ve made a new design based off a great t-shirt that was featured on Engrish and available as a mouse pad or as other merchandise (BTW, after some searching, I found a font finder website to determine that this font was actually Dom Casual). I even changed the favicon.ico file for the page.

Heidi and I are so excited for Chris and Sue who know how to make buns! Nice announcement too
CAPTAIN JAMES T. KIRK
I’m sorry, I can’t hear you over the
sound of how awesome I am.
I found this at some silly website full of them. This one was my favorite but maybe I’m just partial to the Montreal homeboy.
Oh yeah, and if you’re really clever, you can make your own custom posters like this one at bighugelabs.
Like last year, I’ve made hard apple cider again this year except for this year I put a few in wine bottles – I think that they look great in there!
So, Saskatchewan is making a desperate attention grab by claiming that they have sasquatches too! I love the stuff that makes ‘news’
For those of you who are big Star Wars fans (yes, that’s Chewy in the picture, not a real Sasquatch), I hear that the Holiday Special is a real winner.
Hamilton is trying to pull together all of their talent with a better coach; so they signed Taaffe – I really don’t know much about the guy but he comes pretty highly recommended, so I’m optimistic…

Saskatoon is going to get to host an NHL exhibition game between the Flames and the Panthers. I remember when I was pretty young I got to see a Flames pre season game in Saskatoon (I think). I remember that I was really pumped to get Theoron Fleury and Mike Vernon’s autograph – they were my faves…
Another great clip from Extras
Some background. Extras is a Ricky Gervais show which often has celebrities come on and lampoon themselves. In this episode, Sir Ian McKellen is directing a play that the Ricky Gervais character is going to be a part of. Sir Ian wants to pass on some wisdom, here’s how that goes.
How do I act so well? What I do is I pretend to be the person I’m portraying in the film or play. You’re confused. Case in point, Lord of the Rings, Peter Jackson comes from New Zealand, says to me, “Sir Ian, I want you to be Gandalf the Wizard” and I said to him, “You are aware that I am not really a Wizard” and he said, “Yes, I am aware of that. What I want you to do is to use your acting skills to portray the Wizard for the duration of the film.” So I said okay, and then I said to myself mmmm how do I do that? And this is what i did. I imagined what it would be like to be a Wizard and then I pretended and acted in that way on the day. And how did I know what to say? The words were written down for me in a script. How did I know where to stand? People told me. If we were to draw a graph of my process of my method, it would be something like this. Sir Ian, Sir Ian, Sir Ian, action, WIZARD, YOU SHALL NOT PASS, CUT, Sir Ian, Sir Ian, Sir Ian.
UPDATE:
I found the video on YouTube – oh happy day!
